Statement by Library Trustee candidate Sarah Yastrab

The library is a unique institution in that it is a place where everyone in this community can come together. I decided to run for the Library Board to help make it a place that everyone can be proud of.

In my professional life, I have worked with people of different age groups, different backgrounds, and different levels of ability and disability. That experience, together with my experience as a mother, and a 12-year resident of the Five Towns, uniquely enables me to represent the needs of this community.

Since the library is funded by taxpayer dollars, I would like to see transparency in where the money is going. It is time for the library to embrace the technologies of the 21st Century, and deliver service to our taxpayers in creative modern ways.
