Woodmere - The Young Israel of Woodmere and the National Council of Young Israel will present a lecture for singles entitled "For Singles Beginning the Process . . . Navigating the Dating Route: Halacha, Hashkafa, and Hadracha" on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 7:30 PM.  The event will take place at the Young Israel of Woodmere, which is located at 859 Peninsula Boulevard, in Woodmere, New York. The Guest Speaker will be Rabbi Mordechai Willig, a renowned lecturer and scholar, who is the Rabbi at the Young Israel of Riverdale, and a Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshiva University's Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary.  Refreshments will be provided. Bellmore - Yiddish theater is coming to Bellmore! The Hazak Chapter of the Bellmore Jewish Center is bringing The Folksbiene Theatre's Traveling Troupe for a performance of "Mama's Lokshn Kugel," a Yiddish musical revue with English supertitles, on Sunday, April 18, 2010, at 3 PM. East Meadow - The East Meadow Simcha Chapter of Hadassah will meet on Monday, December 21 at 7:45 at the East Meadow Library to hear Dalit Ballen-Horn, assistant director of the American Jewish Committee's Belfer Center for American Pluralism. Her topic is "We were strangers too: Jews and the Immigration Debate in America." The library is located at the intersection of Front Street and East Meadow Avenue.

New York City – Representative Anthony Weiner (D-Brooklyn and Queens), a member of the House Middle Class Task Force, will speak at Temple Beth-El of Rockaway — 121-16 Rockaway Beach Boulevard at Beach 121st Street — on Monday, December 21st at 8:15 p.m. He will be giving an update on the Middle East and Israel in a town hall style meeting.
