Supporters of Kulanu filled the ballroom at the Sands of Atlantic Beach on Saturday night, February 16 for their annual dinner. The evening’s Guests of Honor were Brenda and Stanley Goldstein and Friendship award recipients Raquel Bernstein and Adam Steiglitz.

HAFTR students have been very busy the last several weeks with many exciting events. A major event was the 23rd Annual Yeshiva University National Model United Nations (YUNMUN), in which HAFTR students represented the countries of Mongolia and Belgium.

J.J. Goldstein is running again.
The enthusiastic 17-year old student at KULANU at HAFTR has rallied his family and other supporters to help raise, to date, $7828 for his second run with Team Yachad this Sunday in the ING Miami half marathon.

On Sunday evening, January 13th, the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County proudly hosted a “Back to the 80s” Reunion Dinner for its high school alumni who graduated during the 1980s. The reunion took place at HANC’s Mitchel Field High School campus, giving the alumni a chance to return to their alma mater and see first-hand just how much it has grown and changed, while retaining the warmth and sense of family that they remembered.

Amidst their piles of school work and
extra-curricular activities, the students of North Shore Hebrew Academy High School in Great Neck still find ample time to donate to the community. Ninth and tenth graders at North Shore are required to perform thirty hours of community service per year; however, many upperclassmen continue their volunteer endeavors throughout their high school careers.

With Chanukah as a backdrop, the timing was extremely apropos of the event, as HAFTR was illuminated with excitement on Tuesday night for the ribbon cutting of the brand new state of the art Neil Steuer gym, dedicated by Sherry and Joel Weiner.
